Seeing new places, getting to know foreign cultures, breaking our daily routines and doing something completely different, experiencing the stunning nature, daring not to plan too much in advance, having time to think about our lives... Our motivation to go travelling for 9 months is as diverse as our chosen routing.
After having completed our studies and successfully started our entry into professional life, we both felt the urge to take a halt and time to reflect. We both love what we are doing in our jobs, we are lucky to live amongst our friends and family and of course we are thankful and wish to continue such a privileged fate for many years to come. However, there must be different places as well and we are curious! We want to see new places in this world, talk to people from different cultures, get various perspectives of what happiness can mean and simply spend time together and dare to go on an adventure. And we have chosen 2016 to be the perfect moment to realise our journey.

This saying from J. W. von Goethe we wildly interpreted and decided it applies for bicycles too. We are adding an extra challenge and will travel half of our route on the Panamericana by bike. By this mode we expect to discover our surroundings more intensely and additionally hope to get in contact with locals easier. And yes of course there will be situations where we will bite our teeth, bend our heads and keep pedaling. But hey, you get what you pay for... and it will not be peanuts for us :-). |
